Privacy Policy

OutSay is a voice-first conversation practice app. This Privacy Policy explains how OutSay collects, uses, stores and protects information when you use the OutSay mobile app, website and related services.

1. Information we collect

We collect the information needed to run OutSay and improve your practice experience:

  • Account information: email address, display name, language, profile preferences, account creation date and authentication state.
  • Authentication information: password hashes for email login, Google Sign-In identifiers when you use Google, refresh-token records and device names for active sessions.
  • Practice content: selected rooms, scenarios, goals, prompts, pressure-mode settings, coach tone, practice history, usage limits and progress information.
  • Voice and feedback data: audio recordings you submit, file metadata, transcripts, AI feedback scores, coach notes, improved answers and related reports.
  • Subscription information: RevenueCat app user ID, product ID, entitlement status, platform, renewal status and subscription expiration date. We do not receive your full payment card number.
  • Notification information: reminder preferences, timezone, push token, platform, device name, app version, operating system details and notification delivery events.
  • Support and technical information: messages you send to us, diagnostics, request logs, error data and security records needed to protect the service.
2. How we use information

We use your information to:

  • create and secure your account;
  • record, upload, transcribe and analyze practice reps;
  • generate AI feedback, scores, coach notes, follow-up prompts and improved answers;
  • save your practice history, streaks, progress and preferences;
  • manage free usage limits and Pro access;
  • process purchases, restore purchases and sync subscription status;
  • send practice reminders and account-related notifications if you enable them;
  • respond to support, billing, privacy and legal requests;
  • monitor reliability, prevent abuse and protect OutSay, users and infrastructure.
3. Voice recordings, transcripts and AI processing

OutSay uses your microphone only when you choose to record a practice rep. Your recording is uploaded to OutSay storage, transcribed and analyzed so the app can produce feedback. Transcripts and feedback may include personal or professional information you choose to say during a practice session.

To provide AI features, OutSay may send audio, transcripts, prompts and practice context to AI service providers such as OpenAI and, where configured, Groq. These providers process the information on our behalf so OutSay can transcribe speech, generate follow-up prompts and produce feedback reports.

4. Storage and infrastructure providers

OutSay uses third-party infrastructure providers to operate the service. This includes Neon/Postgres for account and app data, Cloudflare R2 for audio storage, Redis/BullMQ-style job processing for background AI jobs, RevenueCat for subscription entitlement management, Google Sign-In for optional authentication, Apple and Google app stores for purchases, and APNs/FCM for push delivery.

These providers may process information in the countries where they or their subprocessors operate. We use them to provide the service, not to sell your personal information.

5. Payments and subscriptions

OutSay Pro purchases are handled by Apple App Store or Google Play and managed through RevenueCat. OutSay receives subscription status information, such as product ID, platform, entitlement, renewal status and expiration date. Payment details are processed by the applicable app store and its payment providers.

6. Notifications

If you enable reminders, OutSay may store notification preferences and push tokens so we can send practice reminders and account-related messages. You can turn reminders off in the app or through your device settings. When you log out or delete your account, OutSay disables or deletes the related push data.

7. Data retention

We keep account information, practice history, transcripts, feedback, subscription records and settings while your account is active or as needed to provide the service. Audio recordings are retained so you can review your practice history and so OutSay can provide feedback, unless they are deleted through account deletion or another available control.

We may retain limited records where required for security, fraud prevention, accounting, dispute handling, legal compliance or backup integrity.

8. Deleting your account and data

You can delete your account in the app. Account deletion removes or disables your account sessions, authentication links, subscriptions records in OutSay, notification preferences, push tokens, usage records, practice sessions, turns, transcripts, feedback, AI jobs and stored R2 audio objects.

Account deletion does not automatically cancel an active App Store or Google Play subscription. You must cancel subscriptions through the store account where you purchased them.

9. Security

OutSay uses technical and organizational measures designed to protect your information, including secure transport, signed upload URLs, token-based authentication, hashed passwords, limited access to production systems and deletion routines for account removal. No online service can guarantee perfect security.

10. Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, export or object to certain processing of your personal information. You can update profile information in the app, delete your account in settings, manage notifications on your device and contact us at legal@outsay.app for privacy requests.

11. Children

OutSay is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to OutSay without appropriate permission, contact us and we will take appropriate action.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as OutSay changes. When we make material changes, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, provide notice in the app or on the website.
